Conclusion:This practical showed us that plate tectonics work in a similar pattern and also by doing some stuff with a textbook and sheet’s of paper we can create a image of what goes under the tectonic plate’s when they collide and rub eachother.

Conclusion:I found out that the pratical we done plates that separate was a good one because it made the image realistic and it was a greathelp on understanding plates that separate in the ocean.So it was a succesfull pratical

Conclusion:In this experiment i found out that when purple potassium mixes with water it releases a purple type of sustance which scatter’s everyhwere for part a .For part b since there was no heat the ice placed into the glass could not scatter everywhere

1. Analyse why red sunsets can sometimes be more impressive when there is more dust or pollution in the air than usual.

Red sunset’s can be more impressive because dust and air pollution make it change colour and look like something new and you havent seen before.

1. Describe what happens inside water droplets to cause a rainbow and explain how you can tell whether a rainbow is a primary or secondary.

You can tell if the rainbow is a primary colour if the colour it is showing is a primary colour.The water droplet’sin the  rainbows can be observed whenever there are water drops in the air and sunlight shining from behind a person at a low altitude angle (on the ground). The most spectacular rainbow displays happen when half of the sky is still dark with draining clouds and the observer is at a spot with clear sky in the direction of the Sun. The result is a luminous rainbow that contrasts with the darkened background.

1. Likes and dislikes of this project…..any suggestions on how to improve???

i liked this project very much,because i was in a group i wanted to be in and we worked very well.

i have improved in my computer skill’s and my knowledge on how to gather information from the internet a true source and change it in my own word’s.

More science practical skill’s and more rule’s for the exam’s.

Investigate the two types of sight defect- long-sightedness and short sightedness.

Find the following information:

1. what causes the defect
2. Long – Sightedness:Long sightedness is caused by people’s eyeballs being smaller than the average.
4. the symptoms displayed: Eye ball and illness such as blurry image,headache’s and tiredness.
5. propose what sort of lens may be used to correct each vision.
6. Glasses should be used to combat this sickness/illness and also not vieweing the item up close

What causes the effect

Short sightedness can be caused when the cornea in the eye is too curved and the eyball is too long.The light rays from items in front of you look like they are close up and it make’s your eye’s blury.

Symptoms:Vision of items close up are blurry and items that are nearby remain in focus.

Propose what sort of lens may be used to correct each vision?

Glasses and contact lens mayb be a better tool for a person to see.Also dont be too close to the tv if you are watching a show.

Fibre optic technology offers many advantages when used in medical applications.

a. describe how optical fibre may be used in medical applications

b. identify the traditional medical techniques that optical fibres might replace

c. Evaluate the benefits of fibre optic technology to medicine

A:Optical Fibre’s can be used to help connect a person to the life support machine and also can be used in turning the light on in operation’s.

B:Optical Fibre’s could replace some cable’s for people injury’s or medication by connecting medicine’s and other medicines easily by using one cable.

C:Fibre optic technology would modernize how patient’s are treated because it would be easier to connect medicine to patient’s and it would aslo be easier for patient’s to recieve medicine

Investigate how Jocelyn Bell Burnell discovered pulsars in 1967. Write a short account of this event. (5 lines)

Burnell found the first four star’s and then she made a telescope in July 1967 to find more pulsar’s.She also found 350 Pulsar’s after the finding She analyzed 400 feet of paper chart.She also used a radio telescope that was tuned to the meter wavelength’s of the sky which was something that become history.Since Jocelyn Bell Burnell discovered the pulsar it was going to be called Bell’s Star but it is just known as Cambridge Pulsar.

There is also said to be more pulsar star’s in that have to exsist in the milky way,unfortunately they are going to be very hard but it is something for the next generation to complete.

Recently NASA was successful in launching a space craft named Phoenix which landed on the surface of Mars.

You are to write a journal outlining why NASA would undertake such an experiment.

-         What do you think the Phoenix will find?The phoenix will find natural resouce’s for human’s to live on if we have to change to mars to live.

THE HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE

Research and gather information from the internet about the Hubble Space Telescope. Use the following questions as the basis for your journal entry:

-         What does the telescope do?The telescope orbit’s the earth it blocks the the light from coming on to our planet and it has a clear view of our universe.

-         Where can the telescope be found?The telescope can be found out of our atomosphere orbiting the earth.

-         What is Hubble’s law? Hubble’s law’s is a statement about the redshift in light being recieved far away galaxies.It is also one of the main evidence of a big bang.
